We were there for a conference and it was a great experience in general but the hotel is not set up for groups as large as ours was. For a conference of under 100pax it would be really good but we were 180 and there were challenges for the hotel. The bars could not handle the demand and were seriously understaffed. Senior staff were around being friendly but did not jump in or sort out bottlenecks to help their team. The lunch venue is not set up for bigger groups coming in at once for a meal. The dinner event was in the ball room and seriously overcrowded with only one small clear exit door. We had to queue to exit the room which was a flag for health and safety if there was an emergency. All round I would recommend the hotel for a family event or conferences with smaller groups. Easy to get to from JHB and definitely feels like a getaway spot. It offers more than its 3 star rating as a hotel but it’s in the details that squarely brings it down to a 3Star Hotel.

Location is amazing. Friendly staff like they want to be here. 24/7 Gym vast open green areas front to the river, touches all aspects of a holiday resort honestly very impressed even with the food. No shaded parking but safe. Some tv signals are poor here and there but overall come guys support Riverside Sun no regrets.

We had a 7 day stay at this property. The staff was fantastic, helpful and friendly at all times. Managers took the time to greet us by name and always inquired if we needed anything. The General Manager Taku provided exceptional customer service, took the time to ask about our extended stay and if we needed anything. He's an asset to any organization and this Southern Sun property is thriving under his management. Well done to all the staff at the Riverside Sun!

It's a beautiful 😍 place. We went for buffet and arrived around half past 12 for lunch, they had already ran out of chicken wings and only had 2 pieces of chicken left. Not sure if they did refills on the chicken 🤔. Their food was very tasty and I'd definitely go again 😋
