It was my 50th birthday on the 27 March and decided to getaway for the celebration. The estate is beautiful and lush with vegetation. Stunning. The reception area has a very rustic charm and the views from the top of the flight of stairs in the reception to the pools outside is phenomenal. The restaurant served good tasty food, but the portions were a bit small for the price. The bar area was cozy and you could also just lounge at the pool to be served. You can't park close to your flat though, so you need to walk a bit. Or they do have a service you can call that will fetch you from your door or car and drop you at the reception or flat. It's a self-catering accommodation- so there is a small shopping centre just outside the estate where you could fill up on your groceries. The flat we stayed in, has 2 massive rooms with enough space for everything. Fully furnished with washing machine, dishwasher, TVs in all 3 spaces, walk-in closets, Victorian style bath, balconies with a gas braai. We had an amazing time.

My first time at Zimbali and it's not what I expected it to be. First and foremost - UPGRADE. Shut the show and upgrade. Things are old and worn. There's mould in the showers, the bedding is stained a little. But fine, we move. The thing that really pissed me off is that I left my charger plugged in behind the bedside table (the only play that has a 2-prong) I come back later my charger - the cable and the block are bent out of place because of what I assume to be the table being pushed back into. There's no note apologizing for the matter. We call the reception and they say they'll inform the cleaning team. Is the cleaning team going to charge my phone for me? In the guide book there's a list of things that if broken you will pay for, I would like for that same principle to be applied for things that are broken by the institution.

Service was atrocious from the moment we pulled up to reception and there was no staff to greet us. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to take our bags and show us to our room. The restaurant was no better, we were the first customers of the day and the only one's in the restaurant at 715 ordered a tea and a flat white. Took 15 minutes to get a pot of hot water and a tea bag and another 5 minutes longer for the coffee. Room equipped with a washer dryer but the dry function doesn't work so we ended up drying our clothes in the oven on convection mode. Ridiculous process to get on or off the property made me feel like like a criminal not a guest.

Just next level luxury. Everything about this Resort shouts class. Very well maintained, rooms are spacious, restaurants are tops and service very good all around.
