The Green Lantern Inn is our favourite halfway stop and a place we always look forward to visiting. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making every stay a pleasure. The inn is spotless, safe, and absolutely stunning. Staying here feels like stepping back in time. The beautiful antique décor creates a unique atmosphere that makes the experience even more special. During winter, the crackling fireplace adds a warm and cosy touch that makes you feel right at home. We enjoyed one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time, and it’s an absolute must when you visit. I ordered the famous oxtail, and it certainly did not disappoint. It was tender, flavourful, and delicious. My husband chose the pepper steak pie, and after nearly 10 years of no meal truly impressing him, he was completely blown away. It exceeded all his expectations. A huge compliment to the chef and the entire team. Thank you for another wonderful stay, we can’t wait to return!

8 older guys on off-road motorbikes on a 4 day road mountain bike trip, stopped off for supper drinks and a bed. Wow, the food was hearty and tasty. The rooms with big and well equipped. Gotta love the 1950s radio. The bathrooms were as big as some hotel rooms. Old World charm quality service and quality food. Recommended stopover or for a destination wedding.

The hotel was built in 1892. A really quaint old English hotel. The lit fire place added to the ambiance when we arrived. The hospitality of the staff is commendable. The menu has a wide variety and we were amazed to see the affordable prices.

Just an very cool experience halway to Durban from Gauteng side, do yourself the treat and go have a burger or sandwich there the hotel is very old and take you back into time, the bar for bar lovers will be an experience with oldstyle pool snooker tables, we were pleasantly surprized. Dont just ruch past Van Rheenen again.
