Well worth a meander in the beautiful and evocative Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, this stunning country lodge, masterfully crafted in wood and stone, is just a few minutes from the busy N3 Freeway, and a world apart from the chaos and cares of the city.

Set in expansive grounds, overlooking tall trees and a dam, FarSide oozes old-world graciousness and charm, combined with a certain quirkiness of spirit that is evident in the name alone. The accommodation is luxuriously comfortable, and the bedroom fittings include an inviting ball-and-claw bath for that extra touch of indulgence. A leisurely breakfast, warmly prepared and served with a smile, adds the B to the B (and Self Catering Cottages) that makes the FarSide such a welcoming pleasure for a short or lingering stay on the way to or from the coast.

Our stay here was memorable and it is as beautiful as the pictures. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable with adequate amenities. The manor chef, Abel was amazing, accommodating, interactive and delighted us with daily breakfast. His freshly baked sourdough bread was delicious. Ryan, our host was most welcoming, friendly and courteous. The accommodation is set in Old English style. We enjoyed our evenings by the fireplace and delighted in games such as pool, darts, board games. The adjoining grounds are scenic and beautiful. Thank you Ryan and Abel for making our stay so enjoyable and we most certainly will return.

Fabulous Country Manor in the Midlands! Our room was impeccable, the fireplace made the lounge so cozy. The breakfast was delicious. And to top it off we saw fish eagles at the dam. Highly recommend booking at Far Side Country Manor.
