I really enjoyed staying at this historic mansion, a national heritage site. Everything here evokes the history of South Africa. The interiors and grounds are magnificent. Beautiful flowers and trees surround the house. The grounds are stunning: jungle, a stunning bamboo grove, and a lush riverbank. Anyone who enjoys hiking, admiring nature, and imagining themselves as pioneers in the Amazon jungle will love it here. The excellent service, delicious, heartily presented breakfasts, and polite staff create a homey, relaxed atmosphere, enhanced by the beautiful sounds of various birds. A place you'll want to return to.

I've always wanted to visit this Guesthouse and I'm excited to finally visit it. I loved driving into the property which felt like an adventure into Jurassic Park. Lush forests surround this beautiful property. A beautiful old building with so much charm and a wraparound patio overlooking a pool. The staff is friendly and helping. However, the owners were not welcoming. We waited at the gate for quite a time and the owner was not answering calls to let us in. When we checked ‚in, no one told about breakfast times, WiFi passwords etc. We were moved from room 3 to room 1, the airon was not working and I reported it. There were pests on room 1 which could cause ill health. There was load shedding/ Power outage, the owners did not advise about the situation or to bear with them. Overall it was an awesome stay with beautiful morning of Mzimkhulu River, but I wish the owners can have reception person and take proper care of their guests.

Lovely place! Absolutely beautiful! Rooms are very neat. Service is friendly. The pool is wonderful! I did aqua aerobics there - so much fun! I can truly recommend it.

What a delight, most beautiful house. Enjoyed the morning there on a tour.
