About Fountainhill Estate

Fountainhill Estate has been one of the most amazing places to stay. We stayed in the Georgenau Cottage and the wildlife and view were spectacular.

It is so peaceful and beautiful. You can sit on the patio and watch the wildlife all day as there is always something to see. I would totally recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for a little getaway that is still close to home.

We had a wonderful stay at Fountainhill Estate! We stayed in a self-catering cottage, which was exceptionally clean, beautiful, and felt completely like a home away from home. While it’s a self-catering setup, having breakfast provided was perfect. ​The hiking trails were absolutely lovely, and we encountered zebra, wildebeest, springbok, giraffe and an abundance of beautiful bird life. The best part? Even if you don't leave your cottage, the animals come right to you! There isn’t much to do in the immediate area outside the estate, but you truly don’t need to leave. Bonus tip: If you do run short on supplies, there is a large Spar close by to stock up. It is the perfect place to switch off, connect with family, and enjoy nature at its finest. Highly recommended!

This is a beautiful get away in the midlands. A hidden gem. We went for a wonderful morning walk in their game reserve. The trails are well maintained. You can only walk the trailed by appointment but it is well worth it.

Fountainhill Estate was a fantastic place to hike. They have a few routes to follow. From 4km to 20km. We saw so much wildlife and the trails are clearly marked.
