Our wedding weekend was the most magical time at Goedgedacht. Right from the beginning (a year before the wedding!) Rene was super helpful and accommodating. She was in touch regularly to update me and check in on me and was efficient with all paperwork. We used the caterers from the venue, Tannie Ellen and her team. I cannot tell you how many people have mentioned the food when they reminisce about the wedding. We had close to 80 people there for the entire weekend and required dinner on Friday, breakfast on Saturday, lunch boxes on Saturday, plated dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday - a huge undertaking! Almost every person we speak to, from the meateaters to the vegetarians RAVES about the food. It was OUTSTANDING. The most delicious, homemade, beautiful food. I know I'm not impartial, but it was the best food I've ever had at a wedding. People also constantly rave about the canapé table - unfortunately we were taking photos during that time, but those snacks have been mentioned to us MANY times by guests since the wedding. The decor was exactly what we wanted. It was beautiful. Tania and her team did a magnificent job and made my life so easy. I didn't have to stress about a thing. The manager of the farm was around over the weekend and available for any concerns and was very warm and welcoming. The staff were like magicians. They sneakily made sure the place was sparkling in the morning and the grounds always looked beautiful and neat. Many of our guests stayed on the venue, but lots also stayed at Mountainview Lodge and Ruby River. The rooms at the lodge don't have locks and I was worried (classic Joburger!) that this might be a problem. But we were all totally safe (the game lodge is well fenced off) and our belongings were perfectly safe. We could not have asked for better weather, better food, better decor or a better venue. We absolutely loved the entire weekend and are so grateful to Rene and her team for helping us have the wedding of our dreams. I highly recommend this venue!

Magnificent place, bush living combined with luxury accommodation. Food was exceptional, venue amazing and a really nice relaxing run in the mornings made it so much better.
