Had a wonderful time for my wife's birthday. WOW!!! Dirk and his staff: Mxolisi, Elizabeth, William, Kwena, Wendy, Leah, Samuel - they were amazing and made every moment special. There was no waiting, they were there! Absolutely stunning, food was sublime and the bar was something else. Love it!!! Definitely coming back. Stefan Venter - great job, keep it up!!!

This is the ideal place for a couple get away. Not ideal for older people with or anyone with walking disabilities. Also not child friendly, except for a splash pool outside the spa there is nothing to keep a toddler entertained. Taking a toddler to the restaurant is quite challenging as the plates and glasses their kiddies meal is served on and in, are all glass! The food is great though, compliments to the chef! And the waiting staff are very friendly.

It was terrible, so sad. The place is beautiful and very interesting. The service, shocking, short staffed I think. Food, so untasteful, oxtail was tough, couldn't chew it. Waited for our fish an hour, was so unpleasant, could hardly eat it. No, it's a waste of money. We were booked for three days, left the first morning, after a disasteress breakfast was served....

This place is a true ‘hidden gem”, as a travelling photographer, we booked accommodation with Shangri-La and our hearts were overjoyed with our stay. We could hide away from all the busy and just stay hidden in this beautiful encapsulation of home away from home… thank you ! I would love to re-visit this place and present Shangri-La with a property gallery, that they deserve. I do believe without a doubt that this place has soo much to offer beyond what is know to the public eye ! The rooms - Refreshing, intimate, clean. The Buffet - Perfect presentation, the buffet was styled in a homey harvest outlay. It was such a blessing to experience so many families and children around the breakfast tables together. Shangri-La’s decor and outlay of the reception has so much story to it, there is an ever present feeling of grit and determination that’s portrayed in the flat lay of the decor in the Reception.
