Disappointed in my stay. Granted we arrived in the rain and mist, and left in the rain and mist, so unable to comment on the scenery. The road to the hotel was in shocking condition, with deep potholes which because of the rain were filled with water. Reception was helpful, and arranged for our B&B to become bed and dinner. We arrived at our room in the rain and the light at the door was not working and nor was our door key. So needed to go back to reception in the rain to get a new key. The room was fine, but the bath and basin had stains in them, which made it feel a bit rundown. Bed was clean, warm and comfortable. The restaurant was a disappointment. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the service was fine. The food was unfortunately disappointing and not up to the standard we were expecting.

False advertisement. Cannot see how it can be a 4 star, maybe used to be. Photos on google are very old. We paid for two nights but left without even staying one night and rather went back home 400km away. Would not recommend. The garden is extremely overgrown to the point where you can’t see where to walk. Wooden walkway to the spa is badly damaged, forcing you to walk around unsafe areas. Parts of the spa ceiling is in poor condition. Gutters hanging at restaurant. Most of the garden lights are broken. The warm water pool area is not very inviting as the mirrors are dirty. There was loud music playing at the bar right next to the restaurant completely ruining what should be a relaxing spa environment. Overall, very disappointing and not as advertised. Definitely not worth the money.

It’s honestly quite sad - you can see this was once a beautiful place, but it’s clearly been neglected and no longer lives up to what it used to be. The views are great, and there are some interesting old features in the bar and dining areas that add character. However, loud music was playing in both the reception and bar areas, and it didn’t match the atmosphere the venue seems to be going for. It felt out of place, off-putting, and quite inconsiderate. We stayed in room 31 and didn’t have any towels in the room, which was disappointing. The spa and indoor pool areas also didn’t feel clean or inviting. The gardens are overgrown, and the walkways around the property are clearly neglected. Even the grey colour of the buildings adds to a rather depressing overall feel. We booked for two days but ended up leaving within the first hour after seeing the condition of the property.

Hotel in bad shape. If they do not renovate soon, everything will be falling apart. Beautiful setting but need urgent attention.
