We arrived very late at night and had booked at the last minute. The staff were incredibly hospitable and still smiling despite a near midnight arrival. The room was beautiful, clean and great blackout curtains. Breakfast was a choice of delicious options. Overall a great place to stay.

A serene, comfortable boutique stay with real attention to detail. Ecolux Boutique Hotel is one of those places that quietly surprises you in all the right ways. It’s small enough to feel exclusive without being cramped, and every part of my stay was genuinely pleasant. The room I had was beautifully laid out — a comfortable double bed, his-and-hers basins, a large shower, a proper desk for working, air-conditioning (which was an absolute lifesaver), a TV with a couch, and a separate restroom. The balcony added such a nice touch, especially in the evenings. The restaurant really impressed me. The menu is extensive, the food is excellent, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable — even for the drinks. The koi pond next to the restaurant creates the most calming atmosphere while you eat. It’s such a simple thing, but it genuinely adds to the experience. There’s also a pool, a neat little garden, and secure parking. The location is easy to find and convenient to get to. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, which made all the difference. All in all, a serene, comfortable stay with thoughtful touches throughout. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful boutique hotel experience.

Arriving in Komatipoort, our usual restaurant was closed. After a quick search we found Ecolux. Upon arriving, we received a warm welcome. The food was excellent and service was great. It was very quiet, probably due to the rainy weather and floods in the area, but they were still open and Freedom accomodated and treated like VIPs.

The rating needs to be re-evaluated . It’s not 5 star! Two star is being kind. I travelled from UK and wasn’t expecting much but this was straight up horrid! The room smelled of the sewers from the open plan bathroom with no closed shower doors. You couldn’t sleep. The air-con was noisy like a busy factory. The service was palatable but the food was bad. At breakfast you paid for coffee and milk although the price included breakfast. There was one bath towel and 1 hand towel for 2 guests. They didn’t see why we needed another set of towels. The pool was slimy. I won’t go back even if the accommodation was free. Just such a disappointment.
