Absolutely loved our stay at La Montagne! 😍 The views are breathtaking, the treetop cabin was spacious, clean and so cozy, and the sunsets felt like something out of a painting 🌄 The beds were incredibly comfortable — we slept so well! 🛏️✨ The restaurant was excellent and breakfast more than enough to keep you going. A big highlight was the staff — incredibly friendly and helpful! Special thanks to Simon, Jabu, Abel and Kim for going the extra mile. There’s no bar fridge in the cabin, but Simon happily provided an ice bucket with ice when needed — so not a problem at all 😊 Also, the gravel road was no issue, even with a small car. We honestly weren’t ready to leave… time stood still there 🌿✨

The service and food at the restaurant was great, with friendly and helpful staff. The room (luxury mountain cabin) was however a let down. The booking say wifi is available, but when you get there, it is only available at the restaurant area. Towels look very old. There is no bar fridge in the room. They say they have a coffee station, but they don't replenish the milk, thus you can only make coffee once. I ordered flower petals and paid for it, but they did not provide it. Both mornings of our stay we woke up with no water in our room, thus could not shower. The showet also don't have tiles on the wall, it is just painted. The view is however great.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at La Montagne in Hartebeespoortdam. The establishment is officially 4-star, but the service we received exceeded a 5-star level The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. The property and gardens were immaculate, and the views over the dam were breathtaking, it honestly reminded us of the lakes in Italy. The restaurant was also excellent, with great choices for both lunch and dinner, and the price point is very good for the generous portion sizes. Breakfast was hearty and we didn’t want for anything. Every small detail felt thoughtfully considered and well implemented. We’ll definitely be back.

From the breathtaking views to the delicate, delicious food and the relaxing spa, every detail was perfect.
