What a beautiful, peaceful place. The accommodation is lovely, comfortable, and well equipped, and the property is such gorgeous. I loved having so many options of peaceful places to sit and read - from the waterfall to the benches by the various ponds and grotto. I also loved doing the walks on the property, which are well-marked and easy but take you to beautiful views and places without even leaving the property. I will definitely be back the next time I need some soul-rest. Thank you Volmoed.

A wonderful place to get away from the world. Volmoed Retreat Centre is a special and wonderful breakaway from the busy world. This place is fantastic for retreats and getaways. There is so much to see and the natural beauty of the area is amazing. The cottages are really cosy and beautiful. There is a lot of space and the cooks do an amazing job on catering. You just lounge around, take a walk, go hiking, go for a run or just soak it all in.

After a challenging year I was looking forward to a weekend of quiet reflection only to find out on the Saturday while meditating in the chapel that a youth group was using the facility. They talked loudly and played music right outside the chapel. The group only left at around 18h00 the evening. Were I informed of this before hand, I could have prepared myself. The Brothers of St Benedict’s Priory are not in residence any more, as per the website, so the prayer rhythm are not being followed. Also note that WIFI availablity as indicated on the Nightsbridge booking portal is only available at the office building and cell service is patchy at best. The two stars is for the neatness and cleanliness of the unit and the ease of check-in.
