We had an exceptional (but sadly, not long enough) stay at Alkira Lodge. The space is big enough that you will barely notice the other guests, the staff are very friendly, and all the amenities high spec. The fully stocked honesty bar with a wide choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks was a nice touch. The views are stunning, both during the day and in the evening. This is a great choice if you’d like somewhere quiet to empty your head and recharge! Of course the flip side of this is you’ll be a little drive away from the center of Knysna but presumably you know this when making a booking.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alkira Lodge, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredible host, Sam, and the attentive team, including the talented chef Robyn. Their hospitality truly set the tone for an exceptional stay. The lodge itself is stunning, with impeccably clean and beautifully designed rooms that made us feel right at home. The views of the Knysna Lagoon from the property are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset – a perfect time to enjoy a sundowner on the deck while soaking in the serene surroundings. One of the highlights was the luxurious pool and jacuzzi area, which provided a perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. It felt like a private oasis with panoramic views that stretched over the lagoon and surrounding hills. Breakfast at Alkira Lodge was a delight, with Robyn creating delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented dishes. Every morning was a treat, and the quality of the food added to the overall experience. The location of the lodge is ideal, offering a tranquil retreat while still being close enough to explore the charming town of Knysna and its many attractions. Whether you’re planning to relax or seek out adventure, Alkira Lodge is perfectly situated. A big thank you to Sam, Robyn, and the entire Alkira team for making our stay so memorable. Their genuine care and attention to detail elevated our visit, and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious yet warm and welcoming escape.

Wow wow wow! Alkira lodge exceeded ALL our expectations. We had our wedding weekend at Alkira lodge in January 2023. Sam and her team were absolutely incredible. They were friendly, professional, attentive, kind and all round just wonderful. Both our wedding guests and guests that stayed the weekend at the lodge, could not stop singing the staff’s praises. Every single one of Alkira’s fantastic staff had a smile on their face and completed every request with care and most importantly, a sense of humour. Sam personally served dishes at our wedding reception and the entire wedding ran absolutely seamlessly. Furthermore, the rooms were excellent, the views were to die for and the food was out of this world! Sam has something truly special in Alkira and my husband and I are already planning to return for our 5 year anniversary. :) So much love for this truly special place!

Nestled on top of a hill, the lodge boasts a stunning view of the Buffels Bay that added to its perfect blend of tranquility and thoughtful design. The size of the lodge was just right, creating a serene atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful retreat with beautiful surroundings. The culinary experience at the lodge was a highlight, with the chef crafting marvelous dishes tailored specifically for us as guests. Each meal was a delightful journey of flavors, showcasing the lodge's commitment to providing a personalized and memorable stay. Sam, the owner and hostess, truly elevated our experience. Her attentiveness to our needs and requests was exceptional, and her warm and cheerful demeanor made us feel right at home. Sam's insightful recommendations on nearby places and activities added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. Her dedication to ensuring guests have a wonderful time is truly commendable.
