Hugged by the tranquil valley and surrounded by natural beauty, Brookdale Estate is home to a sprawling vineyard in the countryside with an award-winning Manor House overlooking lush indigenous gardens, wild fynbos, dipping valleys and towering hills. As a working wine farm, here imagination meets skill through an exploration of curiosity. Our guest experiences are tailored. Once you make a booking, we provide a preference sheet to complete. We then make personal recommendations based on your preferences in order to ensure that you have a truly memorable experience. ## Our History A true Cinderalla story, the estate was once overgrown and underused. The Rudd family saw its enormous potential and acquired the property with a clear vision in mind – to create a world-class country estate that produces fine and interesting wine blends using unusual varieties in a South African context. Before vines could be planted, alien vegetation had to be cleared, and the balance of nature restored. The Rudd family successfully cleared the 67 hectares of land, salvaging a block of Chenin Blanc that would become its maiden release and planted the remaining 40 hectares with indigenous vegetation and gardens for guests of the Manor House to explore. As ardent wine connoisseurs, Brookdale Estate is the pinnacle of the Rudd family’s passion. Here, Mediterranean varieties, a unique Paarl terroir and innovative winemaking techniques are brought together under the visionary hand of owner, Tim Rudd, and winemaker, Kiara Scott Farmer. Brookdale Estate is home to an elegant Manor House with sprawling gardens, a Bistro, Tasting Room and state-of-the-art Wine Cellar.

Went for Mother’s Day lunch and had been wanting to visit the farm and restaurant for quite some time, it definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, elegant and refined, with stunning interiors and striking wallpaper that creates such a special atmosphere. The service was superb from start to finish and the menu was extensive with so many tempting options. We ordered the mushroom risotto, mushroom spring rolls, steak, beef carpaccio and cheese soufflé, every dish was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The extra Mother’s Day cupcake was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more special. The wines were also exceptional. Truly an extraordinary lunch experience and we can’t wait to return.

Blown away!!!! From arrival the service was 5 star. The food was the most amazing experience. Every dish prepared and presented beautifully and the taste was perfect. Definitely made the right choice to celebrate a special friendship at Brookedale.

Breathtaking setting and gorgeous restaurant. Certainly an upmarket and fine-dining experience with a location to match. Portions are surprisingly generous, with complimentary olive & bread board, as well as complimentary square cake treats at the end. Chef and staff very capable, friendly and accommodating. Treated us, and our 10-year-old, as regulars. Head chef seems very well in control, and not distantly occupied behind a kitchen door - he ensured eye contact when we were getting up to depart to convey a dedicated thank-you gesture and a wave. His interest in the customer experience reflects in the food quality. Our waiter, Kagiso, was equally great. We will most certainly be back.

An absolutely unforgettable dining experience at Brookdale Estate Bistro! The food was nothing short of amazing, every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Our server, Kandre, was outstanding, warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our experience special. Michelle, the manager, was equally wonderful and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. To top it all off, the chef even came out to greet us, which added such a personal and memorable touch to the evening. From the service to the atmosphere and, of course, the exceptional food, everything was perfect. We will definitely be back!
