Montusi Mountain Lodge is an absolute gem in the Northern Drakensberg. The setting is breathtaking, with uninterrupted views of the Amphitheatre and the surrounding mountains – the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. One of the highlights of my stay was the guided hike. I had a fantastic experience with our guide, Vincent, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, its history, and the local flora and fauna. The lodge offers excellent guided hiking options, which make exploring the Drakensberg both safe and truly enriching. Another unforgettable activity was the horseback riding. Riding through the beautiful landscape with the mountains as a backdrop was simply magical and a unique way to experience the area. The lodge itself is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the staff are warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for stunning scenery, outdoor adventures like guided hikes and horse riding, and a relaxing atmosphere, Montusi Mountain Lodge is the perfect destination. Highly recommended!

Fabulous place. Great food. Beautiful views. Slightly less connected with the local community than other venues. Overall superb though.

Celebrated my 60th at Montusi. Staff and Management were so attentive and responsive, it made the entire weekend special. From booking to check-in to daily activities, there is so much to do. If you need peace and quiet, you have it there in abundance. You can be as active or as sedentary as you wish. Beautiful setting amongst the lesser mountains of the Drakensberg range

Montusi was the highlight of our trip to the Drakensberg, one of our best experiences in South Africa. A beautiful setting and excellent short(ish) walks, including the climb to the top of Montusi Mountain with stunning views. Friendly and informative hosts and staff. Highly recommended.
