We stayed at Sandford Park Country Hotel in the Drakensberg and overall had a good experience. The hotel itself is really nice - large, well-kept grounds, beautiful surroundings, and the rooms are comfortable and pleasant to stay in. For the price, it’s definitely good value. Breakfast was a bit confusing. It’s supposed to start at 7:00, but in reality most of the buffet only gets put out closer to 8:00. That said, the food itself was good and tasty. Dinner was the main disappointment. It didn’t feel worth the price at all. The schnitzel seemed to be fried in old oil - very greasy, with a dark, overcooked crust. We gave it a second chance, but it was exactly the same. After that, we just went out for dinner elsewhere. The location is also not the most convenient -most of the main Drakensberg attractions are about 40–60 minutes’ drive away. But considering the price, it’s something you can live with. Overall, a good place to stay if you’re looking for something affordable and quiet, just don’t rely on the dinners there.

Good experience. Any little issues we're immediately resolved. Beautiful , laid back place. A bit cold this time of year. The rooms were warm and there was a fireplace in the dining hall . The hotel is surrounded by gorgeous trees and flowers

What an incredible hidden Gem... This amazing family run establishment has 5 star facilities and hospitality. Attention to detail is amazing and the decor, which is a mix of vintage and contemporary ..... making .....the perfect statement. THIS family friendly hotel is the perfect Berg destination. Value for money,The luxury, The Food , The Tranquility, The Hospitality, The cleanliness and upmarket decor and most importantly, safety and security.....makes this the best hidden GEM .... IN THE BERG...7 STAR RATING FROM ME. We'll done to the owners and staff of this magical Establishment...

Arrive there and there was no power the power only came on the next day everything was warm nothing in the fridge was freezing so it was a big slap. Thy need a generator. Beds was the best i ever slep in
