I was very disappointed with my stay here. Shortly after checking in, the power went out due to a town issue, which I understand is outside the property’s control. What was frustrating was that the host made no effort to inform guests about what was happening, I had to go looking for answers myself. After traveling to Dullstroom, I tried to shower and discovered there was virtually no water pressure because the water supply is affected when the power is out. Again, this was only explained after I went to ask. Once the power returned later that evening, I hoped things would improve, but unfortunately the accommodation itself was extremely poor. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the guests next door talking loudly throughout the night, followed by very intimate noises that made it impossible to sleep comfortably. The bed was also incredibly uncomfortable and I discovered during the night that it was actually missing a leg. Privacy is another issue, the particular unit is exposed that the curtains need to remain closed even during the day to stop people looking in. Considering how cold Dullstroom gets in winter, I was also surprised there was no heater, electric blanket, or any meaningful heating solution provided beyond a basic duvet and thin blanket. I ended up checking out a day early due to the noise and discomfort. When I informed the host, the response was simply “sorry about that,” with no real attempt to resolve the situation. Overall, this stay felt poorly managed, uncomfortable, and not good value for money.

Absolutely incredible experience at Highland Rose Spa! I booked the Me Time Package and left feeling 100% relaxed, deeply moisturised, and somehow emotionally healed too 😂 Every part of the treatment was thoughtful, calming, and luxurious from start to finish. The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were warm and professional, and I genuinely felt like I could switch my brain off for the first time in ages. If you need a reset, self-care day, or just want to feel human again, I cannot recommend this enough. I floated out of there ✨

My Son and his girlfriend was there this weekend and they just said the service was terrible, no wifi!!!no milk for their coffee. Coffee was cold in the urn. Had a room right next to the dining area!!!!! No receptionist to assist!!!! They will definitely not recommend this place

Best place for a weekend away in Dullstroom. The service was professional and rooms were nice and cozy, super friendly and kind owner and staff. The Spa gave us the best massages and treatment ever and the breakfast was divine. It is super safe with security on guard 24/7 Over all I am very satisfied with my visit and will definitely make a return.
