I had a truly disappointing experience at this venue. I made a reservation around 7 PM, which was confirmed. Before booking, I called to check availability but received no response; however, I was able to complete the booking online.When I arrived at 9 PM, I found a note at the gate advising against hooting, which I initially respected. After calling the number listed on the note and being ignored again, I hooted, and eventually, the gate opened. A young man, barefoot and quite confrontational, came out yelling at me for hooting and insisted that I should have called instead. I explained that I did call, but he then threatened to cancel my booking and demanded that I leave. I stood my ground and requested a refund.When my husband arrived, the situation seemed to diffuse somewhat. The young man then claimed he would cancel the booking on his laptop. I texted him demanding proof of payment or the keys as left me outside in the cold; and he eventually handed me the keys. The entire encounter left me uneasy, unsafe, and I struggled to sleep that night due to the aggression I faced.Additionally, the road leading to the venue was in poor condition, and the shower setup was less than ideal, with a basin inside that made it awkward to brush my teeth without getting soaked. Overall, this experience was far from satisfactory.

This place is quite and rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Love coming here. You can order food when you book. It is just out of town so very peaceful.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Longtom Farm Guesthouse. From the moment we arrived, the staff went the extra mile to ensure our comfort. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the team is genuinely friendly, always ready with a smile and helpful suggestions. It’s clear that guest satisfaction is their priority, and that made our experience all the more memorable. The rooms are cozy, the surroundings peaceful, and the service exceptional. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the care and attention we received. ⭐ Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and relaxing getaway!

Perfect place to find peace and quiet. Gorgeous surroundings, very inspirational. It's a beautiful Lodge and with a warm welcome from the hosts you feel immediately at home. The staff and hosts are super kind and helpful, you wish one could stay there forever. I actually extended my stay with four more days. Situated outside Lydenburg but still close to town. The dirt road is kind to small cars as well. I can't remember when I last recommended and praised a Lodge so highly but every word is meant. I wish the owners good luck and sincerely hope to see them again in the near future.
