This is actually the Caledon Botanical gardens, and the google map placement is slightly off, it’s not by the hospital, it’s further down the hill. However was a lovely walk, clearly not super well maintained, but I enjoyed the wild nature part! There’s a flat area that’s very easy, then a bit more of a hike up to the cool stone arch. Plenty of pretty flowers and lovely views, especially considering it’s just on the N2. There’s a little river and plenty of quaint spots which make for excellent photos.

The place is not well-kept but if you like a foresty feel then you might enjoy it. The small buildings have been vandalized and there's no security.

What a gem, to find this wonderful expansive garden right along the N2. So many people drive past here never knowing that this relaxing garden is right along the highway and it offers a break from the road. There are plenty of walks depending only on how much time you have at your disposal. The staff members were friendly and helpful; we could see a crews of people working to keep the garden tidy, though, to be fair, you can see that there are maintenance requirements in a couple of places. It would be nice if some areas were labelled for those not familiar with the flora in this environment. The benches are well-placed throughout and some are placed in the shaded or sunny areas to accommodate for the weather – nice touch. There are also various picnic areas (both open, covered, and partially covered and in various sizes, depending on your group size. You can’t braai in the gardens, but it’s a great place to relax or take a leisurely walk. There’s a restaurant close by and Victoria Mall is across the N2.

The park might have been better maintained. It's still great strolling and a little hike but all the litter is terrible
