A really beautiful countryside establishment, activities and entertainment for all ages. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we were very impressed. The casino is clean and service is outstanding. The restaurants served Devine meals, just a pitty i didnt get to try warm bath or spa, but hopefully we will be back real soon!

Good enough for a quick getaway and a bit of fun but not much else. The good: the mineral baths are great and in winter, a welcome source of warmth although the walk to them is long (5 mins) and cold. The arcade centre is also nice for the family to have some fun in. The grounds are lovely and the whole casino is say in a very picturesque area. Breakfast was fine - quality was good, coffee from the machine was nice and there was definitely enough food although we were turned away the first morning because there were too many people and we had to wait until a table freed up. The bad: We booked a superior room and the bathroom was functional but not up to standard - the bath shower was a throwback to the 1980s and the room lacked proper lighting (lamps being the main source of light (only source at night)). The ugly: the restaurants at the casino are woefully lacking. The black sheep diner looks classy but has very limited food options (no options for young kids) and the other restaurant does pizza and pasta but isn't particularly nice to dine at. This means we had to eat out both nights in town. Fortunately, The Barn (in the town itself) is great and fills the gap but apart from that, organising supper would be difficult. Overall, weighing up the good with the bad, I'm glad I went - we got the rooms at a good price (just over R4000 for two nights) but staying there makes you think too many corners have been cut to make a repeat visit something to get excited about. Maybe in another 5 years?

A business stay thus no need for the Casino and its trappings … thus can’t comment. My room, a standard room, was old, very old. Mattress long overdue for replacement … sagged badly (I’m 91kg). Coffee in room but I expected better quality at these prices. Fortunately there was a Seattle Co. at the service station just outside the complex. Water?! … only 2 small bottles … meant we had to buy more water whilst getting a cappuccino at Seattle. Bathroom was clean but also very dated … bath faucet had long since lost its chrome coating … leaked badly when trying to engage the in-bath shower … a possible indication of management trying to avoid any upgrade/maintenance cost for as long as guests were still willing to endure the discomfort. Toilet seat does not fit the toilet … I guess it was replaced from local hardware stock at some point … or so it seemed … paired with single-ply paper … what can I say … terrible value for money. The location and setting is lovely. Service staff friendly and helpful. This fact earns one star. Oh and exiting the complex was a challenge, only one of the two exit lanes worked … so had to reverse and try again with no help from the persons on duty at the gate. Parking is quite a walk from the hotel … prepare to carry your luggage (in the rain) … no assistance that I could see. Dinner? Skipped dinner … was not really taken by the restaurants on offer given a typical Casino ambiance. Breakfast? Just ok. Coffee was good! For me it was Interesting to note that the breakfast offer had a dedicated “non-halal” section (small) … I’ve not seen this before in my travels … this suggested that the rest of the breakfast offer was Halal … which included bacon … go figure. I could not find the non-kosher, non-vegetarian section though 🤷🏼‍♂️. Also to note that smoking and non-smoking rooms were on the same floor (so it seemed) … passages had a strong smoke smell .. our room featured a dirty ashtray on the patio. Not pleasant … but I guess fitting with the Casino theme. Can understand why other accommodation in similar price category was fully booked. Caledon Hotel could well be a last resort for most as it was for us.

A charming country-side getaway combining light casino fun, a highly touted spa, kid-friendly amenities, various dining options, and a picturesque backdrop. Ideal for a relaxing weekend retreat or a family stay.
