Three years in a row, and it keeps getting better. Mont Rochelle is the kind of place that quietly ruins other hotels for you. The staff are the real reason we come back. Everyone is brilliant, top to bottom, and we got upgraded for our loyalty this trip which absolutely did not go unnoticed. That sort of thing sticks. The wine is, predictably, very good. You’re on a vineyard in Franschhoek, so it would be odd if it wasn’t, but still worth saying. Miko restaurant is outstanding. We ate there twice. No regrets whatsoever. It’s the kind of food that makes you go quiet mid-sentence. Already planning year four.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We just stayed here for 7 nights. It was fantastic, relaxed and club house feel. Staff kind and with their own characters not homogenised! Food in the restaraunt was delicious. Anna and Mr. T super attentive l. Fred at the bar a complete gem. Peter a real gent and very cheery. Bronwin in the Spa is the best therapist one could have. Effort at the Winery so knowledgeable and empathetic. Hotel drivers excellent all of them. Elizame the manager very caring and hard working. The rooms super and all of an excellent standard. Also the hotel is well set out so you never feel crowed even when it is full. We can not wait to return. Thank you all MR team you made our wedding anniversary special.

One of the worst experiences we’ve had at a wine farm. We did a wine tasting and bought 2 bottles of Sauv Blanc. When we received the bill the bottles were R450! R450 for a bottle of Sauv blanc!!! The drinks menu that was on the table showed R195 and the guy’s explanation was that because we drank the bottle at the table we are paying restaurants prices where if we took the bottle home it would have been R195.. The same bottle!!!! Only now we got ice ? Ridiculous!

The wine tasters of today are the patrons of tomorrow. We drove out for a wine tasting and overall it was a mixed experience. The views are genuinely lovely, the wine itself is so-so, and the service was perfectly fine. What really disappointed me, though, was the menu. For a five-star hotel, being handed a printed, folded, and visibly stained menu just feels careless. I strongly believe that if you can’t get the small details right, you can’t get the big things right.
