Oak Valley is a hidden gem a little off the beaten track. We stopped by for a wine tasting on our way from Hemel-en-Aarde to Cape Town and it was perfect. Well worth a visit and the staff were so kind and attentive - thanks to Gordon for our tasting and charcuterie board despite not booking in advance. We’ll be back - all delicious!

Went wine tasting with friends. Shoutout to Keeno, our waiter. Good wine and spectacular views. I really appreciate the beautiful decor inside the tasting room. Perfect for a date, family lunch or day out with friends. We went in the middle of winter, but there is a pool and I am sure summer is an even better time to visit.

Oak Valley is a hidden gem! The farm is as the name implies, a valley of oaks. The views are absolutely breath-taking. We met Keeno at the tasting room and he is incredibly knowledgeable for his age. He had in depth knowledge of all the wines and the history of the farm. It was absolutely fascinating! Wait until the end for the twist in the tale. Well played Keeno! Now for the wines. The Sauvignon blanc was as good as expected, the dry edged Riesling surprised me. We had to buy it. The Chardonnay had just the right amount of wood, but we opted for the more matured one - excellent.The pinot noir is well balanced with rich cherry aromas. Again the older flagship wine was better and we bought both. My favourite was the Merlot. We will return again and again. Great setting, excellent presentation and rich history by Keeno and superb wine!!

A great visit to Oak Valley Wine Estate. The wines are very good — especially if you appreciate the Elgin style with its freshness, precision, and elegance. What really set this tasting apart from many other estates, though, was Gordon (hope I got the name right — Jan 12, 2025). He turned the tasting into a genuinely memorable experience by truly listening to what we enjoy, adapting the selection, and guiding us through the wines in a way that felt personal rather than scripted. That level of attentiveness and understanding makes all the difference. Excellent wines, and a tasting experience that felt thoughtful, relaxed, and perfectly tailored. Highly recommended.
