Location & Noise We unfortunately did not realize before booking that the property is located right next to the N2 highway. As a result, sleep was extremely difficult due to constant traffic, especially heavy trucks passing throughout the night. At times, the trucks were so loud that they actually shook the room. Staff The receptionist was very professional, friendly, and helpful. However, it felt like she was expected to handle the responsibilities of an entire team on her own, which is unfortunate. Cleanliness & Room Comfort There were no towels in our room upon arrival, and the bed sheets had visible stains. The couches in the lounge area also appeared not to have been cleaned for a very long time. Additionally, our room did not have an electric fan, which made the night uncomfortably hot. The wifi also barely reached our room. Facilities & Atmosphere A fire is lit every evening, which creates a nice atmosphere, and the on-site canteen is definitely a plus. Safety & Security From a security perspective, it felt fairly easy for someone to tailgate an incoming vehicle and gain access to the property. There was only one unarmed security guard on site during the night. Overall Overall, this place has potential but clearly needs more care, maintenance, and attention to detail to meet expectations.

Island Vibe is a neat little backpackers tucked away right on the N2. It doesn't feel like you're on the main road with a good sound barrier. There is a lovely view from the top deck. The rooms are great, good bunk beds (a little low), and extra bedding is provided. The current staff, Senate and O'nele are super amazing! They are really down to earth and friendly, and make you feel right at home. Met loads of cool people, enjoyed the fires and braais, and playing some games. It's a really safe space. Very happy with my stay! ✨️

Very basic rooms, more for backpacking, clean neat and safe. All-round good service.

I had a wonderful stay at island vibe Knysna, the staff were super friendly and up for an adventure any time, which as a solo travel gets me out of my comfort zone to create great memories, I stayed in a dormitory which was very clean and the bathrooms were also good. At night we had a fire going in the pit which made for great chats with new friends and there is also a fully stocked bar just so you know 😏😅, but other than that I really do recommend staying at island vibe in Knysna if you’re ever in the area!!
