It is at a reasonable price. Very spacious with antique furniture. The place has electric blankets which made it such a pleasant experience at it was in winter. The service was amazing along with their food and breakfast.

Portland Manor is an absolute gem. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The food was outstanding — both breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully prepared. The Manor, Hotel and its surroundings are full of history and charm, offering peace and quiet that feels restorative for the soul. The landscape is breathtaking and the hikes surrounding the property were deeply enriching, celebrating the beauty and spirit of the Knysna forest and its historical ties to Portland Manor and nearby Belvidere. Walking with the silent sounds in the forest, discovering the charming church in Belvidere, and finally reaching the breathtaking ocean views between Brenton-on-Sea and Buffelsbaai created the perfect blend of nature and history. A stay at Portland Manor is so much more than just a getaway, it’s a place to breathe, reflect, and truly rest.

Its a really beautiful hotel, the service is fine, everyone is very friendly and accomodating. Its a big shame the restaurant closed down, but we had a great meal there anyway. Beautiful pool with tanning area, maybe some new chairs would be nice but we received towels which was very nice. The rooms and hotel however need some love.

This place is amazing. We had a great stay here, the grounds and scenery around is stunning. The staff are friendly and food is great. It was our favourite place along the garden route, we relaxed by the pool, watching the birds and didn't want to leave. (We stayed the full day after we had checked out.) I saw a review mentioning the brown water coming out the taps. This is because the water comes from the dam, it is filtered and drinkable, the colour is just not completely clear and is nothing to complain about.
