4.2/5 would be appropriate.Please accept criticism constructively…. Overall the setting is great, especially with the river and the walking/mountain biking route on offer. Some of the pain points: the venue is clearly pretty new and so understandably needs to go through growing pains. I do not think R2k/night is reasonable for what you get. While the bed spread is cotton and the furnishings in the tent are more ‘glamorous’, there is 1 ply toilet paper in the loo. Granted it is a setting in nature, but the cockroaches in the bathroom at tent 1 were a lot to deal with, thankfully none in the tent. The tent itself was finished well with intricate little touches like the mini wood stove. Hot water was not an issue. The common area ‘the oak shed’ was warm and comfy with a fire kept going by staff and the kitchen more than well equipped, everything brand new and cast iron cookware to boot. Overall we enjoyed our stay, I think a relook at the rates is fair as there is not enough ‘glam’ to justify R2k/night for what’s its worth - further considering it’s fully self catering with no stores or restaurants close by. The focus seems to be to attract groups and weddings, trying to do both still has some figuring out to do in my opinion. Thank you for the stay and best wishes.

The tents are thoughtfully designed: spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. Every little detail has been considered, from quality bedding to stylish finishes and everything you need for a relaxed stay. It’s the perfect blend of luxury and simplicity. What really stands out is the atmosphere — slow mornings, braais under the stars, and the kind of stillness that makes you breathe deeper. Whether you're looking to unwind, reconnect, or simply get away for a weekend, De Stilte offers a unique experience that feels both grounding and refreshing.

De Stilte is truly the perfect place to escape the noise of everyday life and find real peace and solitude. We recently stayed in one of the cottages, and it honestly ended up being the highlight of our weekend. The cottage was neat, clean and so beautifully and thoughtfully arranged. You could really feel the care that had gone into every detail. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and fresh bread, which we are still enjoying, and everything we needed was clearly explained with easy-to-follow instructions. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, and we loved taking a peaceful walk along the river and exploring the beautiful farm. We also got to see the glamping area, which looks incredibly special. The setting itself is breathtaking, with the farm nestled against the mountain and the most beautiful sunsets. There is something so special about being there. It is the kind of place where you can truly switch off, slow down and reconnect with nature. We absolutely loved our stay and cannot recommend De Stilte enough. We will definitely be back! 🤍
