Oh my, what an unforgettable stay we had at Mont Rouge! From the moment we arrived, we were completely immersed in nature — surrounded by flowing water, sparkling stars, and the most incredible sense of peace and tranquility. Marisha was an absolute gem. She was always available to help with anything we needed, yet the team respects your privacy so beautifully that you truly feel like you have your own secluded paradise. It’s such a rare and special balance. The hot tubs are pure magic — soaking under the stars with the sound of nature around you is something we’ll never forget. The rooms are perfect whether you’re visiting as a big family or escaping for a private, romantic getaway. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, dressed in luxurious linen that makes you feel completely pampered. The pool is phenomenal — perfect for cooling off and having fun — and we loved that the water flows directly from the stream, completely chemical-free. It adds to the natural, wholesome experience that makes Mont Rouge so unique. We are beyond grateful for such a wonderful stay and cannot wait to return. We had a wonderful stay in Cabin 3 at Mont Rouge in Tulbagh, which is perfect for two people. Mont Rouge is set on a working farm surrounded by vineyards and blueberry fields, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The cabin is simple, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay, including a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of excellent firewood, and a great braai area. One of our favourite features was its location above a stream, with large sliding doors overlooking the vineyards, creating a lovely indoor-outdoor feel. Mont Rouge is dog-friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the farm with our dog—often accompanied by the friendly farm dogs! Our cabin also featured a private wood-fired hot tub on a lower level, right next to the stream. For warmer days, there is also a small communal plunge pool available for all guests. A special mention to Marisha, who was incredibly responsive, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a peaceful countryside escape with authentic farm charm, beautiful surroundings, and all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay, Mont Rouge is highly recommended.

We had a wonderful over night stay at this lovely self-catering cottage! The space was cozy, spotless, and well equipped. The highlight, without a doubt, is the wood-fired hot tub. Sitting back and soaking while taking in the amazing views is pure bliss. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, and feel completely at home. We’d happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay off the main roads. (Remember to take a bag or two of fire wood for the braai and hot tub from the garage in town).

We had a great time at Mont Rouge over Easter. We stayed in the Tree House (Cottage #3 – The Honey), and it was fantastic. Each cottage is well spaced, so it’s peaceful and private. The view over the stream, orchards, and mountains is outstanding. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The cottage had everything we needed, and the KolKol hot tub was a real bonus. Walking around the property and through the farm shows how much care goes into maintaining the space. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it.
