Nestled in the picturesque Tulbagh Valley, a mere 120 kilometres northeast of Cape Town, Rijk’s is a family-owned estate where good wine, food, family, and friends come together.

Sustainably farmed with a vision for the future, the estate continually produces award-winning wines. Guests are invited to join us for a wine tasting, enjoy a beautifully crafted farm board, or stay over in our guesthouse.

We enjoyed their wine tasting experience, featuring a selection of Chenin Blanc and Pinotage wines across three distinct ranges. The estate also offers charming outdoor garden seating, making it an ideal destination for a relaxed lunch stop.

Rijks Wine Estate is a beautiful and welcoming place to visit, with a relaxed atmosphere, excellent wines and a setting that makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the view. The estate has a lovely balance between quality, comfort and charm, making it ideal for a tasting, lunch or a quiet escape. I would suggest tasting both the reds and signature reds!

Our second visit to Rijks- this time for lunch and a glass of wine. We both selected the fish - Kingklip on a bed of green beans. This was perfectly cooked with large flaked fish that was definitely not frozen. Beans were aldente- perfect !! The waitron was efficient and attentive even though she was temporary labour. Loved the chenin wine - all in a great lunch in a wonderful setting.
