I visited with my child and my younger sibling to celebrate my sibling’s birthday. Unfortunately, there was no chicken available, but the gentleman assisting us took the time to explain the available options. I asked what would be suitable for us, and he patiently recommended and explained everything in detail until I was able to make a choice. We waited a short while, and he then brought our food. The food was very delicious, and after we finished, he kindly gave us containers to take home what we couldn’t finish. We even took some photos near the pool. We were treated very well, and I truly appreciate the excellent service we received.

Lovely hotel with a warm and memorable atmosphere. I only stayed overnight, but even in that short time I had a fantastic experience. We were welcomed with a delicious and beautifully prepared spread of food, which immediately made us feel welcomed. The second highlight of the evening was the Zulu dance performance—absolutely captivating. The power, strength, and rhythm in the dancers was incredible to watch and truly showcased the richness of the local culture. Despite the brief stay, the hospitality and entertainment left a nice, lasting impression.

If you are considering booking at ANEW Hotel Hluhluwe, please exercise caution. We recently stayed there from 01–03 May 2026 as a group, occupying a lodge designed for five couples. While there were a number of smaller concerns during our stay, we chose not to make an issue of them at the time. However, on the morning of our departure, one of our vehicles was broken into on the property. This is not just disappointing—it is a serious security breach. What is even more concerning is how the situation was handled. On-site representatives, including maintenance and security, gave repeated assurances that camera footage would be made available. Only a day later did we receive communication from management stating that the cameras were not operational. This directly contradicts what we were told during our stay, where strong emphasis was placed on security measures, surveillance, and overall guest safety. As guests, we relied on these assurances. Members of our group, including our spouses, felt comfortable walking around the premises at night under the belief that appropriate security systems were in place. There is a clear gap between what is presented to guests and what is actually in operation. Safety should never be overstated or misrepresented—especially in remote locations where guests are fully dependent on the establishment. Based on our experience, we have lost confidence in the security and transparency of this property. We strongly encourage anyone considering booking to ask detailed questions about security measures and ensure they are satisfied before confirming their stay. Safety cannot be compromised.

ANEW features a very nice approach view to the property, is very clean, and staff always makes itself available. The bathroom may benefit from some updates but the beds were quite comfortable and the show we attended outside of the restaurant area was quite good. Its location is excellent for those planning to venture into Hluhluwe-Imfolozi park.
