We had a wonderful stay at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge and it was one of the highlights of our South Africa trip. The luxury tents are beautifully designed and offer a unique bush experience. Even though the nights can get quite cold during winter, the team thoughtfully switches on the electric blankets while you are having dinner. Coming back to a warm and cozy bed was such a lovely touch and very much appreciated. A very special thank you to the team for arranging a birthday cake for our son. They helped make his birthday truly unforgettable, and we are incredibly grateful for their kindness and attention to detail. The lodge itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and the dam with its hippos is a fantastic place to relax and watch wildlife. One small suggestion for families: it would be helpful if it were communicated more clearly in advance that children around the age of 6 cannot participate in the meerkat tour or the cheetah experience. Knowing this beforehand would make planning a little easier for families with young children. Overall, the outstanding hospitality, beautiful surroundings and thoughtful service made for a fantastic stay. We would happily recommend Buffelsdrift Game Lodge to anyone visiting Oudtshoorn and hope to return one day!

My partner and I had a great stay at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge- it felt like we were on safari, but with more safety and less bugs! We booked a luxury waterhole tent for 2 nights, and took part in 2 of the on-site activities (Night drive and Free-roaming cheetah experience). We enjoyed how everything we needed was on-site and the staff were approachable and attentive with any questions we had. We felt the grounds and buildings were well-maintained and the tents were spacious, clean and well-appointed, even including ear plugs for sleeping next to the watering hole! The private, outdoor showers were fun to experience. There are free-roaming tortoises and nyala (local antelope) on the grounds, and everyone, including the children, treated them with respect which was great to see. Be sure to see the local bats that fly at dusk! The restaurant had great meals, and the staff were attentive and accommodating. The restaurant can get quite busy after dark, we went earlier and it worked great. We were also happy to see that parents felt safe to bring their kids to the Lodge and engage in the safari activities. The activities we went on were well-organized, safe, and the guide was knowledgeable about the area, engaged and respectful of the animals. We would not hesitate to book at Bufflesdrift again. What a great experience!

We did not stay at the lodge, however, we visited while on honeymoon to do the Elephant Interaction experience. WOW. This was so special. The guides are amazing as well and extremely knowledgeable. Beyond thankful to have been able to do this experience. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at Buffelsdrift for 4 nights for our belated honeymoon and a much needed break. This was, by far, the most wonderful stay we have experienced. Everything exceeded our expectations - the accommodation and views, the service, the staff, the lodge experiences - everything was more than perfect. The attention to detail, particularly with staff whom we had never met knowing exactly who we were and congratulating us, blew us away. We have been recommending Buffelsdrift to all of our friends and family (and anyone else who will listen), it's truly such a special place and absolutely worth the visit.
