I have stayed over here several times and each time it is like having a home away from home! Here I experience that special down to earth, friendly hospitality Die Platteland is famous for. Of course being in the lovely Klein Karoo environment is always very special too! The rooms are big, comfortable and very clean, while interesting and even feature a fireplace, packed with wood already. Food is very good and personnel very friendly and helpful, delivering very good service. I am looking forward already to visit them again!

Our stay was incredible, even from the drive to get to De Opstal. The surroundings are stunning, and visiting the Karoo was one of our favourite parts of our 2 weeks travelling in South Africa. De Opstal has a beautiful, rustic charm to it, and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Myself, my fiancé and my father stayed in 2 separate rooms, and for all of us our stay at De Opstal was one of our favourite parts of the trip. The staff were fantastic and really were a highlight of our stay here. Marissa was very helpful when we had a mishap with our safe (our own fault) and was always enthusiastic to see us, assist with anything we needed and has a lovely warmth to her character. The rooms were lovely, spacious and had a cosiness to them, also featuring a fire place. Food was great and the pool was lovely to cool off in or relax next to. My fiancé and I were planning our wedding at the time, and we genuinely would have considered choosing De Opstal as a venue if we lived closer! We had already chosen an English venue but we could see how beautiful a place it would be for a wedding, it is well set up for one and the staff are very organised. We went to see wild meerkats at dawn nearby (a must do), cango caves and the ostrich farm down the road. The staff were very helpful at directing us where to go for these activities. Very reasonably priced and really feels like it deserves to be 5 star. We stayed in Nov 2024 so have been somewhat slow to post this review, but have not forgotten as our stay was so unforgettable. Thank you for the wonderful memories, we would love to stay again one day.

We attended a wedding. This is a romantic beautiful venue. The food was awesome 👌. The staff was friendly and very professional. The location is very different and absolutely breathtaking. Nostalgic with awesome views and sunsets.

We stayed at De Opstal for a family wedding. It was such a magical, relaxed setting. Staff were amazing, Matilda could not have been more helpful. We loved the country/rustic feel of the setting. As a wedding venue it was truly unique, the decorations and flowers were stunning and the food was delicious. We had an amazing experience over 3 days at De Opstal.
